Robert Denison Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 13, 2026.
Robert Laverne Denison, Jr. from Cuero, Texas passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born October 16, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to Robert and Lorene Denison.

Bob was the oldest of ten children and grew up in Victoria, Texas. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and later attended Texas A&M University, where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. He began his career working alongside his father at DuPont in Victoria before starting his own successful business in home building and property development. Bob continued his work until his retirement in 1999.

Bob married Nancy Tolbert, and together they had two children, Lisa Denison Lively and Robert Bradley Denison. Their marriage ended, and Bob later married Brenda Helweg, which also ended in 2004.

Bob had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and spending time on his property with his horses. An avid outdoorsman, Bob found his greatest joy in time spent with his grandsons, sharing his knowledge, experiences, and love of the land with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlotte Denison.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Lisa Denison Lively (Matt), and his son, Robert Bradley Denison; his grandsons, Mason Lively (Kelly), Andrew Lively, and Luke Lively; and his great-grandson, Hudson Scott Lively. He is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters: David Denison; Bernie Seal (Robert); Janie Pafford; Mary Rosales (James); Rick Denison; Chris Denison; Joan Bodwell (Lindsey); and Janet Charbula (Glen).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Billy T. Kattan Recovery and Outreach Program.
