Robert Kenneth Desper, age 75 died unexpectedly at his Wanchese home November 16, 2025. He was born in Chester County, PA.
Robert was a licensed cosmetologist for many years cutting, coloring and styling hair for locals and visitors alike. More recently and until his health made it too difficult, Robert was a popular and reliable employee of Food Lion.
Due largely to the outpouring of community support and love for Robert Desper- his directives for simple cremation have been honored. Thank you to one and all who came forward to offer emergency assistance.

Robert always told the truth... when high school girls would bring their prom dresses in for his approval, he honestly told them which was better and why...He was creative and thoroughly enjoyed spending weeks creating original Halloween costumes and often won contests at both Kelly´s and in Virginia Beach. Only when I needed someone good to style a newcomers hair, did I google Robert hoping to find his latest place of employment and discovered his passing.
