Robert Frank Dewart, age 70, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at his home.
He was born on January 5, 1955, in San Bernardino, Ca., the son of George Robert and Ruth Ann (Nelson) Dewart. Robert was married to Vondan Edgar, who preceded him in death.
Robert took great pride in his work as a school bus driver, a job he held with dedication and a genuine sense of joy. He quickly became a familiar and friendly face to generations of children. With a warm smile and a kind word for everyone who stepped aboard, Robert made each ride feel safe and welcoming
Robert had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. He was a lifelong fan of Pink Floyd, often found relaxing to their music, letting the melodies take him back to fond memories of his younger days, when he loved to travel and explore new places. In his quieter moments, Robert enjoyed watching game shows, always ready with an answer before the contestants, and he found great satisfaction in completing jigsaw puzzles. Perhaps most memorably, he never met a doughnut he didn't like.
More than anything, Robert loved his family deeply. His sharp sense of humor brought his storytelling to life, often leaving those around him laughing. One of the most meaningful parts of his life was his unwavering belief in the gift of giving. Whether it was offering a helping hand, the shirt off his back, or his long-standing dedication as a blood donor, Robert's generosity knew no bounds. His kindness, warmth, and selflessness touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his children, Wesley Dewart, and Raven Valdez; grandchildren, Rhiannon, Brayden, Jayden, Ashley, Joseph, and Oliver; siblings, Michael Dewart (Janice), Barry Dewart, Carol Eppich, Deborah Dewart, Nancy Dewart, Sheila Dewart (Gary), and Becky Dewart (Reece); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Vondan; son, Adam Dewart; parents, George and Ruth Dewart; and siblings, Patrick Dewart, Timothy Dewart, and Jerry Dewart.
In lieu of flowers, Robert's family requests that those who are able to, go to your nearest American Red Cross and donate blood in his memory.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
