Robert Dhillon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 27, 2013.
It is with heavy hearts the family of Robert "Bobby" Dhillon, loving son, brother, husband, and father, announce his passing on October 27, 2013. Bobby was born on March 30, 1971 in Punjab, India to Dr. Sukhwant and Hardev Dhillon. He moved to the United States in 1979 with his family and married the love of his life Aneta Chlebosz on June 26, 2005. Bobby was a family man through and through. To him there was nothing more important. He loved family gatherings where we would all get together for some good food and good laughs. Bobby had an infectious sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. Bobby had a passion for cooking and he could always be found in the kitchen or at the grill cooking a meal we couldn't get enough of. Bobby was also very proud of his heritage. It was an important part of his life that he enjoyed sharing with those around him. From the cooking to the music to culture, Bobby held it very close and always promised himself never to let it go. Bobby had a true love for classic rock and roll. He always believed that the volume dial should "go to eleven". He used to tell people that if they were real rock and roll fans, they would know what he meant. The memories we all know Bobby held dear to him, was spending time with his wife and son on the water, walking along the beach and picnicking. Bobby loved being on the water and always found peace there. Besides his parents and wife, Bobby will also be dearly missed by his son Nathan Dhillon who was Bobby's pride and joy. Bobby also leaves behind two sisters, Reanu (Dhillon) Morton, her husband Sam Morton and their children Joslynn and Brandon and Pamela (Dhillon) Whitley, her husband Michael Whitley and their children Priya and Avah. In addition, Bobby leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins that will also miss him. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Nathan Dhillon College Fund at the Citizens Bank, 1 Flanders Plaza, East Lyme, CT 06333. Services will be Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 10:30am to 1:00pm at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor.
