Robert "Bob" T. Dietsche, 92, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Dekalb Area Retirement Center in Dekalb, Illinois.
Bob was born April 8, 1932, in Utica, NY, to Herbert and Cornelia Carney Dietsche. He was a graduate of Utica Free Academy, and then graduated from Villanova University, Philadelphia, PA.
On February 4, 1961, Bob married Patricia Garvey, of Utica, in the church of St. Francis de Sales. He was employed for nearly 30 years with the Chrysler Motor Corporation in many different areas of the country and spent most of his years with the Marketing- Investment Division.
Bob is survived by two children, son, Paul Dietsche, and his wife, Brandi of Redlands, CA, daughter, Megan Johnson, and her husband, Chris of Dekalb, IL, daughter-in-law, Claire Dietsche, of Rouses Point, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Robert Dietsche and his wife, Katie, of Champlain, NY, Catherine Dietsche, of Rouses Point, NY, Summer Dietsche, of San Diego, CA, and Carly Dietsche, of Seattle, WA. Bob is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Jenavieve, of Champlain, NY.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Patricia (2005), his son, Michael (1994), and his sister, Anne Keeler (2009).
Bob was a 38-year resident of Naperville and a long-time volunteer and usher at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville. He was also a 12-year resident of Tabor Hills Senior Living Community in Naperville, where he spent most of his retirement years assisting those who needed assistance, including shuttling hundreds to doctors and dentist appointments, grocery shopping, dog walking, etc. If someone needed help, Bob was generally the first call.
Bob's family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Rockford, IL, and the staff at Dekalb Area Retirement Center for their kind and compassionate care as Bob walked his final Journey home.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, July 10, from 9 am to 10 am at McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk, & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd, Utica. Funeral services will follow at 11 am from Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes campus, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Inurnment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica.

I have known Bob since I was born. He was my brother, Dick, best friend. He loved to drive and would go to visit him and Ruth Ann in North Carolina just for the weekend. He was always part of the Penberthy family. A kind and generous friend. We will miss him.
