Robert Earl Dreaden, age 83 of Waverly, TN, passed on Monday, July 8, 2024, at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. Robert was born on April 23, 1941, in Waverly, TN to the late Aultie May Anderson Dreaden and Dorsey Earl Dreaden. Robert proudly served his country in the Armed Forces. He was a lifelong member at Bakerville Church of Christ. Robert was a jack of all trades. He was a commercial fisherman, a farmer and his favorite hobby was scrapping metal. Robert will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Left to cherish are his children, Jeffrey Van Staggs (Tonia) of Waverly, TN, Johnny Staggs (Serena) of Dover, TN and Carmon Ferrell (Michael) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Haley Clay, Candace Clay, Brandon Staggs, Norma McEwen (Jon), Justin Staggs, Catherine Rush (Blake), Jennifer Russell, Adam Lamb (Kristen), Micheal Berg, Nicholas Roberts and Haven Ferrell; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, June Rochelle of Hurricane Mills, TN and Reba Sharp of Dickson, TN; sister-in-law, Jill Dreaden; son-in-law, Todd Clay; numerous nieces and nephews; his loving companion, Rhonda Rice and his dogs, Sammy and Jody.
Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his second wife, Betty Dreaden; his first wife, Loretta Townsend Dreaden; daughter, Sandy Clay; grandchildren, Madeline Clay and Corey Staggs and brothers, Linnie Dreaden and Joe Dreaden.
A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 1PM - 4PM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. There will be a meal provided in honor of Mr. Robert Earl Dreaden after the visitation.
