Robert J. Drohan

Robert J. Drohan 74, of Bellingham, died peacefully, Monday December 9, 2013, surrounded by his family, at Emerson Hospital in Concord, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Linda A. (St. Germaine) Drohan and the late Ellen C. (Moore) Drohan, who died in 1981. Born July 26, 1939 in Somerville, a son of the late James and Julia (Vaivoda) Drohan, he had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 13 years and was a former resident of Franklin. Robert was raised and educated in Franklin, and worked as a maintenance mechanic for Data General until his retirement. He also was a van driver for the Bellingham Senior Center for the past 10 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in July 1959. He treasured the time he spent with his family, riding his Harley Davidson, playing pool, traveling, listening to music and watching all the Boston sports teams especially the New England Patriots. Robert was a member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, and the American Legion of Medway. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children; Dennis L. Kane of Monson, Teresa A. Giardini of Milford, and Juli L. Masi of Portsmouth, RI, a brother Dennis Drohan of Clifton, NJ, 2 sisters, AnnMarie Williams of Franklin and Karen Ferguson of Round Rock, TX. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Dennis L. Kane, Jr., Ashley E. Kane, Robert J. Giardini, Jr., and Kevin A. Giardini and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday Dec. 14th, at 10AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin. Calling hours are Fri. Dec. 13th from 4-8PM.
