It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sad passing of Bob, in his 83rd year, on Monday, September 12, 2016. Bob passed away peacefully at home with loving family by his side. He was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will forever be in our hearts. Together, Bob and his beloved wife, Eileen treasured 60 years of wedded bliss. Devoted and cherished father of Janice (Marios), Lynne (Ron), Rob (Ann), Dave (Sandy), Nancy (Garry). Adored Pepere of Alexander, Nicholas, Gaston, Zac, Brittany, Natalie, Nicole, Brett, Jamie, Julia and Luc. Great grandpa of Jordan, Christian, Kane and Robbie. Bob, a proud member of the Carpenters Union local 18 and also the retired seniors club, an active member of the Knights of Columbus and a long time parishioner of Paroisse Notre-Dame Du Perpétuel Secours has given over 60 years of commitment to his faith and French culture. He was ambitious and committed in preserving 'la Francophonie' within the local French community. He was involved in many Francophone organizations, such as, les campeurs franco-ontariens, le centre francais and l'age d'or. Bob, Eileen and their family hold fond memories of time spent together at their charming cottage. They also enjoyed square dancing together for 20 years, an activity that brought them much joy. Bob had a way of gathering the beautiful aspects of life and family and holding them up for all to see-he truly was the light of his family and will be deeply missed by all those he touched. Thank you so much to the Healthcare team who cared for Bob throughout his illness. Bob's family will receive friends at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil at 8:15 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Paroisse Notre-Dame Du Perpétuel Secours Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 17 at 11am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
