Bob Dussault, Sr., of Sapphire, NC, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in Magog, Quebec, Canada, on September 1, 1943, Bob moved to Schenectady, NY at the age of 12. It was there he met the love of his life, Jane, and they married in 1965. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Jane Dussault, and his son, Bob Dussault, Jr. He was predeceased by his son, David Dussault.
Bob's career began as an x-ray technician, reflecting his caring nature. He later spent many years working in educational technology companies, primarily in the Chicago area where his entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity helped him find success in that field as well. After retiring, Bob and Jane embraced the coastal lifestyle, spending many happy years in Hilton Head Island, SC. Bob especially loved spending time on the tennis courts and enjoying the sunshine, beaches, and the vibrant community, before finally settling in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, finding their haven in the Sapphire Valley area.
Bob was a man of many passions. In addition to his love of tennis, he enjoyed the tranquility of birdwatching from his deck, the adventure of travel, and the simple joy of connecting with family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Bob's memory to either the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
