"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable." Helen Keller said this but it could have been Tim.
Tim was an extraordinary friend and we have had a great friendship over 56 years, despite the distances. Much has been said about his desire to do things his way and his love of people. He cared deeply about the people who came to his rememberance. He loved being a part of your lives, your stories and aspirations. He loved knowing your children´s joys as well as their problems. He was the godfather to our son, Alex. He was there for every milestone in my family´s life, bat/bar mitzvahs, and weddings. Our son´s Bar Mitzvah, an important Jewish tradition, was scheduled for September 15, 2001, only 4 days after the destruction of the World Trade Center. Many friends canceled their trips to come to Philadelphia where we live. The airspace had been closed but this situation did not deter Tim. He had the courage to get on a plane and fly to Philadelphia. When he arrived we asked him" How was the flight? His response: Great! It was like flying on a private jet -only 10 people on the entire flight." His unwavering loyalty has been a constant source of inspiration.
I want to highlight his commitment to life. Faced with s dire prognosis, hc attacked each day one day at a time and stretched a 3 month time frame into 16 precious months filled with great adventures, whether it was driving bull dozers in the dirt, hauling grape juice to a winery or buying and furnishing a rental house in Palm Springs . He did it.
We´ll always have Tim in our hearts and be inspired by your life of action and caring for other people.

I met Tim while helping one of the small business start ups in his building. Although I had no idea of his many accomplishments, I can say I'm not surprised. When you talked with him, he immediately made you feel welcome and gave the impression of a man who had seen the world. My condolences to his family for the loss of this great man.
