Robert Eboch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Givnish Funeral Home - Cinnaminson on Dec. 29, 2025.
Robert L. Eboch, Jr., of Moorestown, passed away on December 24th, 2025. He was 80 years old. Robert was born in Camden, NJ, on February 12th, 1945, to the late Robert L. Eboch, Sr. and the late Anna Eboch (nee Strong). Devoted husband to Sherry (nee Shinn).

Beloved father to Robert III, Timothy (Amy), and Erin Kanpp (Alex). Loving brother to Barb Brown (late Charles) and Don (Jane). Cherished uncle to his Nieces and nephews.

Bob was born on February 12, 1945, while his father, like many other Dads, was in Europe fighting in WWII. When Bob was 3 years old his dad moved the family to a home on Moore Street in Lenola (Moorestown), NJ. Bob lived the remainder of his life on Moore Street in #118 and then in #109.

At sixteen (16) Bob joined the Lenola Volunteer Fire Company. For the next five decades Bob served the fire company as a fireman and a member of the Emergency Squad, an EMT and a CPR instructor. During that time Bob attended the Baptist Conference Center Camp (Camp Lebanon) first as a camper but soon as a camp counselor. In 2016 Bob retired from the two companies of fifty (50) years after impacting many lives.

After graduating from Moorestown Senior High School Bob attended and graduated from Rutgers College in South Camden, New Jersey, in 1967. Upon graduation Bob began a teaching career as a middle school science teacher in Collingswood, NJ. Bob taught there for forty-nine (49) years, retiring in 2016. Throughout his tenure at Collingswood Middle School Bob took on responsibilities for the audio-visual aid club, teaching middle school students how to operate various types of equipment to assist teachers. Bob also took control of the upper grade student stage crew who provided technical lighting and sound support for school plays and other performances.

With a real love of electronics and things technical Bob started Omega Communications Company to provide sound services to numerous local and state pageants and support to local first responders with communication-radio installation and repair. Bob earned his General Radiotelephone Operator (HAM) license in 1985 which he would later use extensively in the Civil Air Patrol.

With a real heart for service Bob used his talents to assist a group in restoring and maintaining electronic equipment on board the Battleship New Jersey, with his son Tim joining the Civil Air Patrol in 1999 as a communications officer. In September 2006 Major Robert Eboch was promoted to the leadership position for his squadron. In September 2025 Bob was awarded a Certificate of Retirement acknowledging more than 23 years of service.

Bob also faithfully served Calvary Church Delran providing technical sound services for worship and working with students in "Kidz Zone" as well as hosting the Wednesday night church Zoom meetings.

As a husband, father, brother, uncle, teacher, and friend Robert Lynn Eboch, Jr., is remembered with much love and affection. Those who knew him should rejoice knowing that now Bob knows life as never before. To God be all glory and praise.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday January 17th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Calvary Church in Delran. Located at 317 Conrow Road, Delran, NJ, 08075. There will be a funeral service immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m., also at the church. Internment will be private. Bob's favorite color was purple, so if you want to wear something purple that would be awesome.

I am a proud member and early Co-Captain of the early Stage/Technical Crews of the late 60s, early 70s. Those were indeed the Wonder Years and Bob Eboch was a huge part of it. The education and life experiences that working with him provided were amazing and far reaching. The pursuit of excellence, doing a job correctly and professionally, with technical detail are attributes that have followed me my adult life. I can't wrap an extension cord (Power Cord) without thinking of his attention to that detail, and the lecture one received when not executed properly.

He touched many people in many positive ways. The stories are endless. Godspeed Bob!

People talk about that ONE teacher who had a profound impact on their life - for me, that was Bob Eboch. It wasn´t about teaching biology, it was all the OTHER stuff. I LOVED being a part of his Stage Crew group. I always say that he and his Stage Crew saved me as I was a new Jr. High student at Collingswood half way through the year. Bob gave me a place to belong.
I am forever grateful and thankful for this good and faithful servant.

Mr. Eboch was such a kind man and an excellent teacher. He was my homeroom teacher and my Science teacher. His dedication to AV club for the plays and talent shows, as well as our Middle School DJ at the dances will always be remembered too! Rest in peace Mr. Eboch. You impacted so many lives and will always be fondly in our hearts! My sincere condolences and prayers to the family.

Mr. Eboch I will remember from middle school and high school. He was always involved with his students whether they were in his class or a part of stage crew. If you saw him outside of class you could say hello and strike a conversation. I didn't have him as a teacher but I will remember him from our conversations. You were a great teacher, mentor, and friend. Thank you Mr. Eboch you will be missed.

Mr Eboch was my favorite teacher! I moved to Collingswood in the middle of the year and he was so very kind and welcoming. I was nervous having a locker for the first time, he would stand in the hallway and make sure I could open my locker before going back into his class. A small thing to him but a big thing to a new kid in middle school. My wedding reception was in the fire hall, Mr Eboch surprised me by stopping by. Another thoughtful gesture that was appreciated. Bob was my high school best friend. We graduated Moorestown Senior High School in 1963. Bob, because of his birthdate, became a volunteer firefighter 10 months before I was old enough to do so. Bob, John and I, ran the HS "operators club" (audio=visual aids) and the "stagehands" crew (both with adult teacher supervision, of course). When Bob was a student at Rutgers Camden, he invited me to travel with his college class to the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, N.Y. I remember that Bell Telephone (aka: "Ma Bell") predicted the Princess phone having push buttons (no dial) and also face-to-face (picture) telephone conversations. General Motors predicted driverless cars and
"superhighways". Bob and I shared Sunday Church experience at the First Baptist Church, Moorestown, and we were members of the Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF). We attended summer church camp for a couple of summers. Unfortunately, Bob and I grew apart after I got married in '67 and that was a great loss for me. Now, with a greater sense of loss, I was quite shaken when I learned of his Christmas Eve passing. My most sincere condolences to Bob´s wife, Sherri, and his children. Does anyone know how I can contact Bob's sister?

Mr. Eboch was a good man who loved what he did and truly loved all his students. I was very fortunate to have him as a teacher just before he retired. I will always remember his loud booming voice but also how he always made his lessons fun and interesting and how he always cared so much about his students. Sending so much love to his family and friends.

Wow. You were one of the most loved teachers I knew in middle school. I´m 62 now but still remember your strength as I was doing back hip circles on your forearm before class

Mr. Eboch changed my life by letting me join the CMS tech crew in 2001. He was more than a mentor- he created and maintained a safe space for a bunch of nerds to learn how to make friends, in my case, my very first ones. He taught us valuable skills - science and technical, yes, but also how to laugh and joke with each other, how to balance work and play, how to be part of a community. He showed me what it meant to be valued, to respect and be respected, to hold myself to a high standard and live up to it. I'll never forget how Mr. Eboch treated what we did on tech crew as serious work that meant something, giving me my first real sense is fulfillment, and when the work was done... he introduced us to Monty Python, to Festivus, to his witty, sharp sense of humor that taught us to poke fun at each other and the world, but still within the bounds of propriety and good taste. Mr. Eboch was a second father to me, and I miss him every day. When I married just a few years ago, I had the DJ play Nights in White Satin at the reception, because Mr. Eboch told us he'd always play that when he used to DJ the school dances, and it was a way of having him there with me.
He was a fixture at CMS. He taught my mom and my older brother, and only missed teaching my son by a few short years. Now when I work at CMS, I tell my students about him - about the man their auditorium is named for. His legend and his lessons live on. Mr. Eboch touched so, so many lives in his long years on this earth, and that won't stop on my watch.
Thank you, Mr. Eboch, for all your years spent shaping lives and making the world a better place. I'll miss you so much.

Mr. Eboch was one of my favorite teachers at Colls Jr. High. I hated science right up until 1974 when I had him for biology. He made me love science from then on.

Bob was a wonderful man. I have known him for 33 years as we both went to the same church in Delran. He never gave up no matter what opstical was in his way. He helped my son join the civil air patrol and was a big part of getting him in the Air Force academy. Our family loved Bob and we will miss him till we see him again in heaven. He also had an angel for a wife. In Christ Len and Luga Groff.
