Robert Eldred Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home - Pinconning on Jan. 16, 2026.
Robert G. Eldred
Orange Park, FL, formerly Crump and Pinconning, Michigan
Our generous, funny, kind and brave father, Robert Eldred, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Bob was born October 9, 1936, to the late Ruby Struble and was later adopted by the late Clifford and Elizabeth Eldred and raised on their farm in Crump. After graduating from Pinconning High School and serving in the U.S. Navy, he married Diane Ecker on October 19, 1957, at St. Anne's Church in Linwood and they remained married for 61 years until the time of Diane's death in January of 2019. Bob was a career salesman, retiring from Pitney Bowes in 1999, and he "worked" as a musician for many decades as the lead singer and guitar player for "The Executives," as well as joining other tri-city area bands and musicians whenever possible. His love for music never waned and he discovered that he liked karaoke in his later years. Bob enjoyed anything related to music, entertaining company, golfing, fishing (even when he didn't catch anything), playing cards – especially cribbage - watching old sitcoms and movies, and he continued to follow the Michigan sports teams even after moving away. Bob was a proud Moose Lodge Member, and he attended Prince of Peace Parish where he served as a Eucharistic Minister prior to moving to Florida in 2020 to be nearer to his children. Bob is survived by his 2 children - Robert (Jackie) Eldred II and Kimberly Eldred; sister in-law, Mary Ann Williams; close nieces and nephews, Cyndi and David Arneberg and Marlene and Don Karbowski; many other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews; maternal cousins Mary (Mark) Fulkerson and Fred Hebert; and many good friends, including special friend, Sharon Julyan. A son, Joseph Kern, predeceased him. Following Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service with interment at St. Anne Cemetery in Linwood will be planned for a later date.
