Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Homes - MilbankRobert Karl Englund, 73, of Spearfish, went to rest with the Lord on February 18, 2026, at his home.
Celebrations of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on March 14, 2026, at Elkhorn Ridge Country Club in Spearfish, SD, and pending in Milbank with burial taking place at LaBolt, SD, with full military honors at a later date.
Robert was born on June 5, 1952, in Milbank, SD, to Lester and Lorinda (Jensen) Englund. Known to many as Bob, he grew up in LaBolt, SD, alongside his siblings Larry, Kay, Jo Ann and Dennis.
Bob enlisted in the United States Army in 1970 and proudly served his country for 26 years. During that time, he married Judy Weber, and together they welcomed one son, Jeffrey Englund. The couple later went their separate ways. Bob later married Pamela Pleinis, and following his retirement from the Army, they moved to Spearfish to be closer to family and friends, making their home in the Black Hills.
Bob loved to stay busy and quickly realized retirement wasn’t for him. He had a passion for carpentry and worked for Ainsworth-Benning for over a decade. After attempting retirement again, Bob returned to work as a part-time groundskeeper at Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club, where he enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends.
Bob is survived by his former wife, Pam Englund; his son, Jeff (Amber) Englund; his brother, Larry Englund; his sisters: Kay (Jeff) Krakow, and Jo Ann (Steve) Musch; his granddaughter: Emily (James) Halvorson; his grandson, Justin Englund; his two great-grandchildren: Knox and Briar, who were the pride and joy of his life; and his dear friend, Carolyn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester; his mother, Lorinda; his brother, Dennis; and his sister-in-law, Marianne Englund.
Bob will be lovingly remembered for his ornery sense of humor, strong spirit, and the laughter he brought to family and friends. His quick wit and playful personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
In true Bob fashion, he would want to be remembered with a smile, a good story, and plenty of laughter.
- Lovingly written by Robert's family.
