Robert Ewing

Robert C. "Bob" Ewing, 80, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Polk City on January 24, 2025.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, also at the funeral home, with burial immediately following at Union Cemetery in Polk City.
Bob grew up in Polk City and graduated from North Polk in 1963 where he participated in wrestling.
After high school he entered the U.S. Army and spent his time in Germany. He was later honorably discharged.
Bob worked at Massey Ferguson until the plant closed. He then worked at the maintenance shop in Polk City. Bob met and married Dee Ford and adopted her sweet young son, Todd.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, John Ewing; mother, Dessa (Leonard) Ward; stepfather, Frank Ward; grandparents, George and Hazel Leonard; six brothers, several aunts and uncles, cousins, and many special friends.
He is survived by his son, Todd; grandson, William; long-time companion, Gloria Knolmayer and her family. Bob is also survived by his brothers, Greg Ewing and Denny (Tonja) Ewing; his only sister, Chery Mihalovich; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as his aunt, Bonnie; and sister-in-law, Sue.
