Robert Michael "Bob" Feeney passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in White Plains, New York, on June 7, 1954, to Robert and Dolores Feeney, Bob was raised in Neptune, New Jersey, where he developed lifelong friendships and a deep love of sports.
A proud graduate of Neptune High School, Bob excelled in soccer, basketball, and baseball before continuing his education and baseball career at East Carolina University in North Carolina where was a pitcher.
Bob devoted more than 30 years to Ocean Township schools as a beloved teacher, coach, and athletic director. He was an avid Giants and Mets fan, and he loved music- he could recall when and where he saw nearly any artist perform. He was a founding member of the "Pool of Fools", and you could often find Bob at Kelly's Tavern with his buddies or at Vic's having his favorite pizza. He was an integral part of the community and touched the lives of his many friends, colleagues and former students.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dolores Feeney, and his sister, Elaine Lee.
He is survived by his former wife, Debbie, who remained a supportive presence in his later years; his children Bobby (Colleen) and their children Rhys, Maxwell, and Finley; Lauren; Eric (Lisa) and their daughter Ava; and Jenna (Bahkim) and their children Navy and Winn. He will also be missed by his many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bob enjoyed weekly family dinners, watching Jeopardy! and baseball with his daughter Lauren, and spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Bob lived life with a good sense of humor and a positive outlook. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in Bob's memory. A repast will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Kelly's Tavern in Neptune City, New Jersey. A repast will be held at 12:30pm in the banquet room of Kelly's Tavern, Neptune City. All friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob's life.
