Robert Russell Fink

He was my dean at the College of Music and appointed me head of the opera program. He gave me freedom to run the program and develop it. He was a friend as well as boss. His guidance and trust was a great comfort to me. I am so sorry for this loss. His guidance in the College was sure and his decisions were well respected even if I did not agree, because they were well thought out and not just off the cuff. I respected him as a person.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was Dean when i was a graduate student in the late 70s and also when I returned in 1992 as a faculty member. He was a wonderful leader, a gentleman, and a fine mentor.
