Robert J. Fouvy

Robert John Fouvy (October 6, 1959 – December 1, 2011) Robert John Fouvy, who was raised in Yonkers, NY, died December 1 after a protracted illness. He was one of two children born to Walter and Dorothea Fouvy, who predeceased him. He is survived by his daughter Heather and her husband Joseph Marotta and grandson Alexander Joseph of New Windsor, NY, and his son Mark Fouvy and girlfriend Gina of New Windsor, NY. He is also survived by his devoted life partner Gina Farrell of Yonkers, NY, and her loving daughters Danielle and Jennifer. He is also survived by sister Jeannie and husband Thomas and nephew Matthew Rinehart of Durham, NC. Robert was a longtime resident of Yonkers and New Windsor, NY who for 30 years served the metropolitan and Westchester County residences and businesses as a courier and package deliverer. Many Yonkers residents recognized Robert as the face behind the counter at Ben's Auto Parts store in the Bronx. He was thoroughly dedicated to his family, friends and community, and was a committed and loving caregiver for his elderly father, Walter, who passed away in 2009 at age 90. Robert was an avid New York sports fan, he enjoyed playing golf with his family, and he competed with multiple rollerblade and ice hockey teams in Orange County, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Millstein Heart Center at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NY. His family will receive visitors at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry, NY Sunday December 4 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Church of St. Denis on Monday, December 5 at 10:00am followed by internment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
