Robert Edward Fowler

Robert Edward Fowler, 93, of Aurora was called to his Heavenly Home on Friday, August 30, 2013. He was born July 26, 1920 in Catlin, IL. He was recently preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 years, Dorothy Jane, who passed away on August 2, 2013. Robert was an Army veteran of WWII and served with 1st Armored Division in ETO. After retiring from Caterpillar with 43 years of service, he began restoring and repairing clocks and watches for family and friends. He was known for his love of family, hard work ethics and his strong belief in education. Robert is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Weir and Jayne (Mike) Finn; grandchildren, Brad (Teri) Weir, Pat (Andrea) Finn and Katie Finn; great-granddaughter, Bella Weir. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 10 A.M. until the Celebration of Life service at 11 A.M. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St., Aurora, IL 60506. Burial will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the sisters and staff at Presence McAuley Manor as well as Presence Hospice for making Robert a part of their loving family for the past 5 years. Memorials would be appreciated to organizations that reflect who Robert was in life.
