Robert C. Fuller

Robert C. "Bob" Fuller Sr., 78, of Marshall died on Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Whispering Meadows East Adult Foster Care Home in Marshall surrounded by his family after a long illness. Bob was born on December 17, 1934, at home in Lee Township, to Robert L. and Maude M. (Cornwell) Fuller. He attended Marshall Schools. On April 5, 1952 he married Lucille H. Mathias in Marshall. She preceded him in death on October 3, 1995. Bob retired from State Farm Regional Office in Marshall in 1996 after working there for 16 years. Prior to that, Bob worked for St. Regis Paper Company for 22 years until the plant closed. He also worked for Eaton's and Oaklawn Hospital for a short time. Bob was a past member of the Marshall Moose Lodge #676. He enjoyed tinkering and could fix anything. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and traveling with his wife to the cottage in Barryton. Bob restored John Deere Tractors and won best of show with his 1956 John Deere 60 at the Calhoun County Fair one year. He is survived by his children Karen (Cloyce) Vandever of Marshall, Robert (Patricia) Fuller Jr., of Marshall, Diana (Lynn) LaBare of Delphi, Indiana. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Jason (Danielle) Fuller, Jennifer (Jeremy) Weitting, Michael Vandever, Amy Vandever, Todd Lipsey, Carrie Parman, seven great-grandchildren , and a sister Maxine M. May of Marshall. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Dorothy Fairchild, brothers Richard Fuller, and Norman Fuller. Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 2-6pm with family present to greet friends at that time. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11am on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with Reverend James Codde officiating. Interment will follow at Porter Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions be made to the Whispering Meadows East Adult Foster Care Home or to Great Lakes Hospice.
