I worked with Bob at Alcoa during the 1980s . During that time, Bob forged on the 15000 ton press as I supported as hot inspector. As a fellow worker, forger, and later worked under him as supervisor, I always had the up most respect for him . Bob was an honest up front and always ba ked his word. If you fell behine in the job on issues, Bob was there to to help as clam as one could be. I never seen him frazed with any problems his crew encountered . I was surprised when he left Alcoa ( Arconic) ,it was rumored that salary that had 30 years must retire as part of a cost containment reduction policy; following subsequent retire.ents with 30 years that seem to be true. This was a significant loss for Alcoa as so many others . My condolences to his family for there lose.

Bob Galvin was an outstanding individual. I worked with him at Alcoa, and when I reflect on those times, my memory of Bob could not be better. Hardworking. Honest. Competent. Dedicated to making things run a bit better every day.
He had a reputation throughout the plant as an outstanding forger and crew leader in Aerospace, and earned his promotion to supervisor. In that role, he served as point man on an off shift, making many decisions and helping run what was a $50-$100 million business with very little support.
It was a complicated shop, difficult to run, and Bob was one of the handful of guys who knew it from the ground up and cared enough to put his full energy into it. Organizations of that size and complexity do not run well without men like Bob Galvin helping to hold it together.
I respected him greatly, a feeling that I know was widely shared.
My condolences to his family, you have lost a good man.

To the Galvin Family, my condolences and prayers go out to you and your family. Bob was part of the ALCOA/ARCONIC, and Howmet family. I work with him through all these changes. He was my counterpart on second shift, we had a lot of fond memories. My prayers to all of you.. Bill Meyers
