Robert G. Garcia

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Robert G. Garcia, on January 25, 2026, at the age of 65. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born on April 4, 1960, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Corrine and Ruben Garcia. He grew up in Denver, Colorado, and Las Vegas, New Mexico. He graduated from Robertson High School and later from Luna Community College.

Robert was a hardworking and dedicated man who proudly worked at UNM Hospital for 37 years. He was known for always being happy and full of energy, many would say he was truly the life of the party. Anytime you were around Robert, you were guaranteed a good time. He had a way of spreading joy and laughter wherever he went.

He was also very adventurous and loved the outdoors, from camping, hunting, and fishing trips to attending multiple biker rallies. Nothing brought him more joy than his ranch in Rociada, his happy place. Whether he was riding around, telling stories, laughing with family, or simply enjoying the peace of the mountains, the ranch was where Robert truly felt at home. Robert was someone who truly lived life to the fullest.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Corrine Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Garcia; his daughters, Valerie Sanchez and her husband Johnny, and Felicia Shouaib and her husband Danish; his sons, Christopher Padilla, and Ruben Cordova and his wife Pauline; his six grandchildren, Jason, Alyna, Chris Jr., Nadia, Jasmine, and Brooklyn; his brothers, Michael Garcia and his wife Connie, and Ron Garcia and his wife Vickie; his sister, Brenda Garcia; and many other family members and friends.

A Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia St., Las Vegas, New Mexico. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Santo Niño Cemetery in Lower Rociada with the following serving as pallbearers Johnny Sanchez, Jason Sanchez, Michael Garcia, Ron Garcia, Brenda Garcia, Jennifer Graham,Danish Shouaib and Ruben Cordova.

A reception will follow at Pendaries RV Resort, 9 Club House Dr., Rociada, New Mexico.
