He was born November 24th, 1940, to the late Albert and Edith (Brothers) Gerlach.
Robert married Carol L. (Mathews) Gerlach December 31st, 1963, and she preceded him in death April 29th, 2015.
Robert was a retired Golf Course Designer, Builder, and Operator. He was an Army Veteran that served as an MP and was a Dog Handler.
He is survived by his daughters Jill Wilson of Cloverdale, Sharyl Gerlach of Cloverdale; son Brent Gerlach of Evansville; grandchildren Megan (James) Langdon, Paige Cullison, Kristen, Caitlyn, Tristan, Josey; great-grandchildren Coleton, Everleigh, Jayden, Logan, Kaedyn; special friend Nancy Branneman.
In addition to his wife and parents he is also preceded in death by his son Brad Gerlach; grandson Christopher Cassida; brother Carl Gerlach.
A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held April 11th, 2026, at Clover Meadows Golf Course beginning at 11:00 am with Military Honor's to be held at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Robert's honor to the Putnam Co. Humane Society. Condolences may be made at www.whitakerfunerals.net
