I was very disappointed to learn of Mr. Giambruno's passing. I met him when I was a student and a member of the band at Roosevelt Junior High School in 1962-63. He followed a long-time and very popular band teacher and had big shoes to fill. Yet he filled them extremely well! I remember his kindness, patience and understanding with all of us. He always seemed to enjoy us no matter what buffoonery we offered in class. He was long on patience, believe me, and you felt like he genuinely enjoyed our company. I saw him again perhaps forty-five years later when I was invited back for a student revue of the school's history. He looked as though he had hardly aged and I so commented. Obviously, his life and family had treated him well! I hope despite his disease that he was able to keep the memories that kept him young and comforted remained. My very sincere condolences to his family and friends. I am sure that all of his other students feel the same way about him and that is quite a legacy of which to be proud.

We're very sorry for your loss. Bob had more energy than possible for one man. He coached our son in Little League and made many memories for all the boys. I heard him with the Sewer Band on the Jeremiah O'Brien with Zep and you could tell he was in his element. He made an indelible impression wherever he went. We'll miss him.
