Robert B. Girard, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children.

Born in Granby in the Province of Quebec, Robert was the son of Guy Girard and Rita Barnes, and one of four siblings: Linda Campbell, and his late brothers, Gary and Daniel. He spent many years in Bordentown, New Jersey, where he and his wife raised their family, before moving to Melbourne, Florida, later in life.

Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army infantry, with deployments first to Vietnam and later to Korea. In 1975, he sustained life-altering injuries in service and became a double amputee. His courage, resilience, and steadfast spirit shaped the rest of his life and inspired all who knew him.

A man of deep faith, Robert served extensively within the Catholic community. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a Past Grand Knight of Council #570. He was also an involved parent at St. Mary's School, contributing to parish life and youth programs in countless meaningful ways.

Robert found joy in the outdoors-fishing, camping, golfing, and target shooting-activities that brought him peace and connection with those he loved.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ngoc Lan Girard; his children, Michael (Kristen) and Michelle Teuscher (James); and his grandchildren: Jack, son of Michael and Kristen; and Camille, Carly, and Kaylani, daughters of Michelle and James.

He is also survived by his niece, Thuy Nguyen-Grabowski, with whom he shared a special bond, and by many beloved extended relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass, celebrated by longtime family friend Rev. Michael J. Burns, will be held on January 16th at 12:30 PM at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Bordentown, New Jersey, a parish that held a special place in his heart.

Robert will also be honored with military burial rites at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date, where he will be laid to rest with the traditions and honors befitting his service to the nation.

Robert's legacy is one of courage, devotion, and strength. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
