It was with great sadness that I read of Bob´s passing. My deepest sympathies to his entire family.
Although I also worked at John Hancock in Boston, I never had the honor to meet Bob in that setting. However, I was, however, privileged to have him as a professor in Northeastern´s MBA program. It was in that setting that I learned two very important lessons from Bob, lessons served me well throughout the remaining 25 plus years in my career. I can still remember the one evening late in the MBA program when Bob said, in response to quandary I was facing in my own career, "...the key, Ed, is to think strategically at the appropriate time." If it was not for those few words, I am sure I would not have achieved what I was able to accomplish in my working years. He taught me how to write, and ore importantly he taught me how to think, as a business professional. I owe Bob so very much.
Again, my condolences to his entire family. He was a great, great man.
