I always thought he would play forever. I made a point to see him play at his frequent visits to my local club. He was my favorite. His attitude, his choice of music and that baritone voice. Always top notch band mates. A great loss. I miss him.

I enjoyed those great concerts at The Lone Star Cafe in New York City. He had a great band backing him: Danny Gatton on lead guitar, Lance Quinn on rhythm guitar, Shannon Ford on drums, Tony Garnier on bass. Sometimes Lee Allen and Steve Berlin played saxes for a few songs. Rest in peace, Robert. I'll always play your records.

I've been listening to Robert's music on Spotify, I especially love his version of "It's Only Make Believe." Sorry to hear of his passing.

Loved that he found his style and stuck to it. A lesson for us all. He also didn't sound like anyone else. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends in this loss.
