Robert Dale Grasman

Robert "Bob" Grasman, age 85 of Hudsonville, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2026.

Bob was a devoted farmer, he worked the land with pride and meticulous care. He loved tending to the crops and respected the seasons. He found solace in the honest and hard work of cultivating the soil to produce the best crops. He was truly a great steward of the land. He was a charter member of Messiah CRC, and a US Army veteran.

He loved to go fishing, every chance he got, year-round. Dad was a man of the water. He found his heaven on earth with a rod in his hand. A true angler, and a friend to all who shared the experience and love of fishing with him. He didn't just fish though, he never came home empty-handed nearly always catching his limit. He never left the house without his signature "Bob N' Along" hat, which bears the name of his fishing boat.

Bob cherished time spent with his family, especially "coffee time" after church on Sundays. He was a humble man with a quiet introspective love and pride for his family. He was loved dearly by all who knew him.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Margery (Brower) Grasman; their 3 daughters, Stacy Grasman, Shelly Duggins, (Troy), and Sandee Grasman, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Roger Grasman, (Joan); sister, Carolyn Hanson; sister-in-law, Paula Jaspers; brother-in-law, Larry Schrotenboer; sister-in-law, Maxine Baker.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Anne Grasman; brother, Stan Grasman; sister, Bonnie Schrotenboer; brother-in-law, Dale Hanson; and sister-in-law, Helaine Miedema.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, February 18 from 5-8 PM at VanderLaan Funeral Home, and from 10-10:45 at Messiah Christian Reformed Church, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Georgetown Cemetery.
