Bob Greiling, or as I called him, "Bobby Granite," he befriended me when I made the varsity track team as a freshman. Bob made sure I wasn´t hazed too much by the other upperclassmen. After track practice he´d give about 9 of us a ride in the bed of his old pickup truck. He´d drop us off at the Piggy Wiggly before turning towards New Franken. It was always a pleasure to run into Bob at Fid´s or Bluestone; we bought each other quite a few beers over the years. You had a tough life; you deserve to rest in peace. My sincere condolences to Bob´s family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I'll remember him as a happy teenager, 5 years older than me. Bob's story reminded me of growing up in New Franken, Grant driving us (Mary Jo, Marcia & me) to school at St. Kilians, Ciel at home and later when we both worked at St. Joseph's Home, and the great Greiling Store where I'd sit next to the radiators eating a chocolate bar and salty potato chips I bought from Ethel after delivering papers on a cold winter's day. Mary Jo, it was so great to see you at Jim's memorial. I send condolences to you and all the family for your loss.
