Robert James Griffin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert James Griffin of North Windham, CT. Robert passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2026, at the age of 80.

Affectionately known as “Bobby” or “Bob” to his family and friends, Robert grew up in Manchester, CT, graduating from Manchester High School in 1964. From there, he served in the U.S. Army beginning in September 1965. After completing his active and inactive duty, he was honorably discharged in 1971. Upon his return to CT, Robert worked at Pratt & Whitney for 44 years, retiring in 2011.

Robert’s family remembers him fondly as a fun, happy-go-lucky man with a big heart, big belly laughs and big smile, who loved to bowl and play setback with his brothers, as well as being a NY Yankees fan.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carol (Kershaw) Griffin, stepdaughter, Kim (Lloyd) Duncan, brother, Gerald Griffin, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, numerous cousins, great nieces, and great nephews. Robert was predeceased by his father, William D. Griffin, mother, Gertrude (Foley) Griffin, brothers, William R. Griffin, Michael Griffin, Richard Griffin, stepdaughter, Lisa Lloyd, nephew John, and beloved aunts and uncles.

At Roberts request, he will be cremated and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in memory of Robert Griffin at American Heart Association.
