Robert J. Hale

Robert J. (Bob) Hale, of South Point, Ohio, was born June 24, 1931 in Ashland, KY to the late William and Minnie (Church) Hale. He passed away May 26, 2014 at Jo-Linn Health Center. He was 82 years old. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday, May 30, 2014 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio with Rev. Lenny Campbell and Pastor Gary Henry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery, NE, Argillite, KY. The grandsons will be the pallbearers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis (Fullerton) Hale; one daughter, Cathy (Andy) Mann of Ironton, OH; three sons, Rob (Lori) Hale of South Point, OH, Mark Justin Hale (Randi) Wright of Joplin, MO and Tim (Johnda) Hale of Dayton, OH; 13 grandchildren, Jason and Carrie Kinder, Sarah and Tal Callihan, Scott Kinder, Dean and Michelle Hale, Stacey and Jamie Chiero, Jacob Hale, Tom and Katie Hale, Chad Hale, Kayln and Garrett Mann and Will, Sam and Sophie Hale. He has eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Fred (Linda) Hale, one sister Mary Letsche and sister-in-law Libby Hale. Bob loved his family and was always glad to see them come. He worked eleven years for Iron City Lincoln Mercury and thirty two years at Kentucky Electric Steel where he retired. He was a member of Sunrise Church of the Nazarene and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.
