Robert Haller was born on March 10, 1947 in Elizabeth, NJ. He passed away peacefully at home in Cranford, NJ, on September 9, 2022. He was the son of Harry and Florence Haller. After living his early years with his family in Kenilworth, he was raised in Roselle Park and graduated from Roselle Park High School in 1965. Bob attended and graduated from Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) and has worked for the engineering firm of Mott MacDonald for more than 50 years. Bob loved his family very much! He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Sylvia and to his son-in-law, Jon and was especially devoted to his granddaughter, Leanna. He is also survived by his dear and loving partner of more than 30 years, Karin Ryan, and her children Kathy Kuipers and her husband Ben, and their daughter Marina, along with Karin's son Matt Ryan. Bob is survived by his four loving siblings - sisters, Janet Keller, Ruth Haller Gombas, and Margaret Snyder and his brother John Haller along with their many children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Although too many to name, all love and will miss him very much. Bob truly loved the beach and spent many happy summers on the beautiful beaches at Lavallette, NJ with his family and friends. A memorial service will be planned. In lieu of flowers, kindly send contributions to The American Cancer Society.

Bob was a great colleague of ours for nearly 25 years. We always appreciated his wealth of knowledge and experience. His longevity of service to Elson T. Killam Associates, Hatch Mott MacDonald and Mott MacDonald is epic and truly something to admire. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and closest of friends.

I met Bob on my first day at Killam Associates over 30 years ago when he and Sal joined us for lunch. I always enjoyed our chats on various topics through the years. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed. My deepest sympathies to the Haller family.

Dear Haller Family,
Bob and I worked together for over 20 years. He was not only a colleague but a person I could talk with about issues not relating to our industry. His wit and sharp comebacks always caught me by surprise, and sometimes - rather rarely! - I’d catch him. Bob was a truly great mentor but a much better man. Sylvia, he always spoke so fondly of you. Rest in eternal peace, dear friend.

I am sorry for the loss of a brother, father, grandfather, and sibling to so many family members. One person in particular, is Ruth. We have been friends for many years, and Kate was one of the sweetest children I ever met. You are all in my prayers. Bob is now at peace, rest and no longer suffering. I hope that you will be happy for him, even in your sorrow. He is in heaven with God, and that is the best place to be. Again, I am very sorry about Bob.

I would like to extend my condolences to Bob's loved ones for their loss. Bob had become a mentor and a dear friend over the years we worked together at Mott MacDonald. He would be the person bringing me chicken soup from Evergreen along with a good dash of tobasco when I had a cold. We knew he didn't like birthdays but we insisted on having Turkey Hill ice-cream on that special day, without mentioning birhtday, so that we can celebrate him. When I mentioned how much I disliked writing, he told me the story of his English teacher assigning a report with only the word "orange". A picture of an orange still hangs in my cubicle. You will be missed Bob and I feel lucky to have known you.

My deepest sympathy to Sylvia, Jon, Leanna, Karin and the entire Haller family. I worked with Bob for over 20 years at Mott MacDonald. He was not only a co-worker but became a good friend. He was a kind, smart and sensitive guy. Rest in Peace my dear fri

Dear Haller family, I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was such a great guy, always ready to help, and full of good advice. He was such a fixture at Mott MacDonald, it won't be the same without him. Occasionally, I would run into him at the Westfield Diner or Shop Rite. My deepest condolences.

So sorry. Bob and I worked together for over 40 years. He and I always found time in our day to tease each other about our opposing political views but always laughed it off in tghe end. God bless
