To Dot, Sarah and Kyle. On behalf of everyone here at Kisampa in Tanzania- Our sincere condolences to you all. Bob´s interest in our mission to protect habitat for wildlife has been instrumental in our ability to add significantly to the land under conservation. In honour of your your family´s contribution to this effort the area will now be known as Harris Forest and we are building a a viewing bench with a plaque overlooking the forest so Bob will always be remembered when people sit there. We hope you can come and visit at some stage.
Our thoughts are with you all.
Best wishes, Rob, the Barbour family and everyone at Kisampa, Tanzania

Dr. Harris was a wonderful friend to our community and caring for our pets - he was an even nicer human being. We first met in 1996 at the Rabies Clinic, which was just another example of his service to the community. He cared for our Golden Retrievers - first Nugget for 12 years and then Bella for 14 1/2 years, followed by our tuxedo cats (Oreo and Jo-Jo) this past year.
His legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren, in his stewardship for Habitat for Humanity, and in his Veterinarian Practice, PAH. I never knew we shared a love for the Adirondacks - his life is an example for us all to follow. Thank you, and rest in peace, Dr. Harris!

We, like many of his family and friends, are diminished by his passing. He was so good to his patients who could only woof, tweet and meow their thanks for his great care and skills as a vet. He made the world a better place and for that and all he accomplished for others, we are grateful and yet saddened by his leaving so soon...may he rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him. I worked with Bob back in the early 70's when we were at Greenfields. I remember him to be such a great surgeon. I always thought that he liked surgery more than anything. He loved his wife and his children were little back then. A funny memory was when he had brought his tuna sandwich for lunch in the morning. He was thinking about that lunch all day. He couldn't wait to get to eat it. He went downstairs to his favorite desk to relax and enjoy when he found out that the cat had already eaten it. HAHAHAH. He was so devastated! And all I could do was laugh. He was a great vet, great person, great family man and oh my what a great life he had. I was glad to know him. So sorry to all his family and friends.

Bob was of valuable assistance to me in establishing my own veterinary facility, the Cedarbrook Animal Hospital. He drew up the initial plans for the hospital design. One of the best veterinary surgeons I had the pleasure of working with I often used him for a second opinion. I find it amazing to see how he was able to also contribute to countless other charities while exploring the world and climbing mountains. You will be missed by your family and close friends but also countless others that you helped along the way.

I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing but I am glad that family was with him in the end. Bob hired me as one of his technicians in 1997 and I worked with this kind man for quite a few years before the Clayton practice was bought out by Dr. Morgan. I always admired Bob for how much he cared and all of the missions for which he led and took part. I am honored to have known him not only as a member of his staff but also as a friend. Please accept my condolences.
