Robert Curtis Harris (Curtis), age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Tumbling Creek, VA to the late Guy Harris and Susie Jackson Harris on May 23, 1940. Curtis worked as a carpenter for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Lola Harris, son Robert (Robbie) Ray Harris, and daughter, Susan Bliss, her husband Joshua and two grandchildren, Jackson and Kendal Bliss. He is also survived by a sister, Nolavon O’Quinn and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by six brothers, Fred, John, Bascom, Frank, Hugh and Bill Harris and three sisters Evelene Anderson, Nannie Sheppard and Rosie Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Billy Fullen officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jason Bordwine, Ethan Bordwine, Lucas Pennings, Grant Pennings, Dave O’Quinn, and Doug O’Quinn.
