Robert Darrell Harsh, 81, of Eglon, passed away on August 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. Born on May 16, 1943, in Eglon, he was the son of the late Artenis Berry and Ida Florence (Judy) Harsh.
Robert graduated from Aurora High School, and continued to live and work in the area as a farmer and carpenter, and retired from Snyder's Cabinets. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working and tending to his lawn. He was a member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carolyn Sue (Fike) Harsh; children; Michael Alan Harsh of Mosselle, SC, Sandy Gravelle and husband David of Davis, Cynthia Bachtel and husband Carl of Eglon, Alan Wilt and wife Patti of Fellowsville, WV, and Brian Wilt and wife Trish, of Oakland; grandchildren, Adam and Kelli Bachtel, Mark and Seegee Bachtel, Ashley Wilt, Anthony and Lakin Wilt, Hannah and Kris Tusing, Bryson Wilt and fiancé Josilyn Evans; great grandchildren, Kaden, Ryelle, Alden and Carlynn Bachtel, Carter, Harper, Kaiden, Sophia, and Kensley Wilt, Sarah and Tyler Moats; great greatgrandchildren, Mariela and Giel; nieces, Susan Baker and husband Michael of Winston Salem, NC, Linda Clymer of OH; nephews, John Harsh, Gary Glory and wife Ella, both of Harrisonburg, VA; and a sister in law, Doris Harsh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Leatrice Joy Flory and Leroy Harsh; and one granddaughter, McKenzie Wilt.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, August, 21, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at the Maple Spring Family Life Center, in Eglon. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11 AM in the Maple Spring Covenant Brethren Church with Pastor Bob Spaid officiating. Interment will follow at the Eglon Cemetery.
