Robert B. Hawkins Jr., a cherished father, husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on October 23, 1949, in Jacksonville, FL, Robert spent his life dedicated to his family and his passions, leaving a legacy of love and joy in his wake.

Robert was a man who truly thrived in the company of others. Known for his vibrant personality and engaging spirit, he found delight in being surrounded by family and friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren; each interaction filled with laughter and warmth.

An accomplished engineer in the construction industry, Robert enjoyed a fulfilling career that reflected his commitment and dedication and afforded him opportunities for international travel, which he greatly cherished. Outside of work, he was especially skilled at woodworking, using his talent to build meaningful things for his family, from decks and yard swings to a cherished playhouse. In his younger years, he also enjoyed restoring antique cars, a hobby that allowed him to blend his engineering skills with his passion. During that time, he served as president of the Jaycees, reflecting his early commitment to leadership, community service, and making a positive impact locally.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Marina Hawkins; and his children, Robert Hawkins III (Briana), Lindsay Paterson (Aaron), Kylie Cajka (Andrew), and Kirstie Hawkins. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Sandi Bessette, Shirley Hall (Greg), and Jane Nelson (Dave). Robert's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Robert Hawkins IV, Haley Twist, Ashley Hawkins, Taylor Hawkins, Liam Sawyer, Andrew Cajka, Quinn Cajka, Niall Hawkins, and Collins Cajka; as well as his great-grandchild, Kennedy Twist.

The family invites all who knew and loved Robert to celebrate his life at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast on February 19, 2026, during the visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. and the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

In celebrating Robert's life, we honor the joy he brought to every gathering, the laughter he shared, and the love he instilled within each of us. He will be greatly missed but forever remembered in our hearts
