Robert Hazenbush Obituary

Robert S. Hazenbush, born Kingston, NJ August 14, 1915. Attended Kingston High school, Class of 1932. Attended Trinity College, Hartford Ct. BS Degree Math Physics 1937. He was reunited by General Electric Co. at Trinity and went to work in New York City, with General Electric Credit Corp. While working in NY he met and married in Sept. 1940, Vera Ray of Stuttgart, Arkansas to whom was married for 58 years until her death in 1998. During WWII he was drafted in NY in 1942. Assigned to 821st Tank Destroyed Batalion training at Fort Hood, Texas. Transferred to Air Force and commissioned as Comunications Officer at Yale University served in the states at Air Base in Kansas with Army Airways Comunications System in the training of B29 Squadrons. He went overseas in September 1944 to South Pacific area serving with the 68th Airways Communications Group in Australia, New Guinea, Philapeans and Japan. Returned to the states in 1946 and stayed in the Air Force Reserve until retirement with the rank of Major. After the war he returned to work with General Electric at Los Angeles as Regional Credit Manager for the G.E. Major Appliance Division for Southern California and Southern Nevada. In 1968 he transferred GE Major Appliance Division Headquarters at Louisville, KY as Manager, National Credit Administration. In 1972 transferred to Jacksonville, FL as Operations Manager for Hotpoint Appliances Distribution in Florida. In 1976 at the consolidation of GE and Hotpoint Major Appliance Distribution transferred to Tampa as Florida Regional Credit Manager for GE & Hotpoint Distribution, resided in Clearwater, FL. On reaching age 65 he retired from GE. His hobbies included, golf, swimming & travel. Over the years did extensive world wide travel with his wife. After her death in 1998 continued world wide travel as a single. He is survived by 4 nephews and 4 nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.
