Robert Heavner

Robert Heavner 1942 - 2017 Gastonia – Robert Lee Heavner, 74 passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18th at Robin Johnson House surrounded by his family. He was born in Gaston County on November 29, 1942 to the late James and Esther Mae Liggon Heavner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Heavner, Ray Heavner, Carolyn Williams and Mary Lou McDonald. Robert was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Dallas. He was a former County Commissioner. Robert was a Real Estate Developer his entire career. If you knew Robert, you knew he was always tirelessly working on a residential or commercial project of some nature. He loved the game of golf and spent many hours on the course with his sons and friends. His priorities for taking care of his family were unmatched and a true gift. Robert will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him; but he would want everyone to remember the good times and take a moment to smile and cherish the memories that were made through the years. Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia Cloninger Heavner; sons, Robert Anthony and Eric Scott all of Gastonia; brother-in-law, Roger Cloninger and wife Sherry; sister-in-laws, Shirley Edison, Judy Hoffman and Janice Green; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia. Private memorial will be held at a later date.
