Robert Heinemann

Heinemann, Robert March 16, 1943 - November 23, 2025 Robert (Bob) M. Heinemann was born March 16, 1943, at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington, to Wanda Gober Heinemann and Charles Frederick Heinemann. The first of three sons; Warren followed in 1947 and Dean in 1949. Robert passed away at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, on November 23, 2025, due to complications related to pneumonia. He lived a full and diverse life. Devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, proud 3rd generation Freemason, Vietnam Veteran, retired Army officer, retired defense department civilian, woodworker and avid gardener. He graduated from Eastern Washington State College in 1966 and was commissioned as an Army Second Lieutenant Ordinance Corps through the ROTC program. He served in a wide variety of positions in maintenance and supply in both the regular Army and Reserve Army before retirement. He was deployed overseas for twelve months to Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 and again deployed nine months to Saudi Arabia 1972. After leaving the Army, Bob transitioned to being a defense department civilian employee. He was assigned to a position at Fort Lee, Virginia, and traveled extensively. He was then assigned to a Logistic Support Unit in Korea for many years and retired in June of 2000. After retirement, Robert relocated to the family home outside Cheney and became the primary caregiver for our mother. Robert's Masonic journey started in 2002 with a petition to his grandfather's lodge in Cheney, WA. He was raised as a master mason in June of that year in Temple Lodge No. 42. He affiliated with Eastern Washington Lodge of Research No. 310 in 2003. Robert was installed as Worshipful Master in 2010 and served as our Secretary from 2011 until 2021. He was recognized as Secretary of the Year in 2012 by the Washington Grand Lodge and received the Grand Master's Achievement Award in 2022. Robert married Linda Fay Lehmann December 1968 and divorced in June of 1993. Robert is survived by two children: Eric and Adria; grandsons: Nate and Audric; and his brother, Dean (Kerry). A Masonic memorial service will be conducted on December 11, 2025, starting at 1:00 p.m., at the Cheney Funeral Chapel, 1632 W. 1st Street Cheney, WA, light refreshments to follow.
