Robert Lee Hines

Robert Lee Hines, age 71, of Erie, passed away on Saturday March 21, 2026.

He was born in Jacksonville, FL on February 16, 1955, a son of the Late Robert and Beulah Hines.

Robert served in the United States Navy Reserves for 20 years.

He dedicated 38 years of work to the VA Medical Center and 25 years at Penn State Behrend.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #700.

Robert was a loyal Raiders Fan. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, home improvements, traveling, driving on the highway and especially loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arvilla Hines and a brother, Charlie Frank Hines.

Robert is survived by his children; two daughters, Kizzy Hines and Shaherha Hines and a son, Michael Birchfield; grandchildren, Aujanique Gamble, Ja’Zareah Hines, Shamira Hines, Anyana Birchfield , Giovanna Birchfield, Javari Hines, Jamarja Hines-Tate, Luchiano Birchfield, Lucius Birchfield and Marcello Birchfield; sister-in-law, Alice (Cotton) Hines; and his step-children, Shaylin Henderson, Mary Henderson, Natavia Vactor and Bryon Vactor, Jr.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc, Wintergreen 2532 Norcross Rd, on Monday, March 30th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors.
