Robert Holzschuh Obituary
On August 17th, 2025, Robert John Holzschuh passed away in his Bensalem, PA home at the age of 64. He was born on June 12, 1961 in Wilmington, DE to the late Bruce Paul Holzschuh and Emily (Maxwell) Holzschuh.
John was an excellent athlete who spent most of his childhood in Delaware competing as a swimmer in the summer for Lane Swim Club and the winter for the YMCA. He loved to skateboard, canoe on the Brandywine River and fish wherever and whenever he could, something he especially enjoyed with his grandsons Austin and Colton.
He graduated from Springwood High School in Lanett, AL where he was a star athlete on the football and wrestling teams. And he spent his summers lifeguarding at local pools and Callaway Gardens.
He received his undergraduate degree from Troy State University and was a proud member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.
His professional career included working in management for Hughes Aircraft, Alfa Laval and Pierce Phelps.
He was also an avid history lover and enjoyed researching his family tree and sharing that passion with his nephews Harry and Tommy.
John is survived by his children Victoria Boyle (Austin and Colton), Kristin Schumann (Ella, Finn & Connor), his family, Lois Ann O'Donnell, Brad and Jennifer O'Donnell (Brendan, Christian & Meghan), Evan and Nicole O'Donnell (Teagan and Avery), Jamie and Andy Quinnelly, and his siblings Richard James Holzschuh, Patricia Holzschuh Turner, and his nephews Bruce "Harry" Crosby, Thomas Crosby.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 12:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.), Richboro PA 18954. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in John's name to the Brandywine Valley SPCA bvspca.org because of his love for dogs, like his beloved Carly.
