Robert L. Horton

Robert L. Horton, 74, of Providence Forge, died on April 22, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, grandfather and grandmother. A graduate of the Hampton High School Class of 1957, Robert was a self-employed salesman, and had retired and was more fully enjoying his woodworking hobby. He was a member of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond. He especially treasured time spent with his family. Robert is survived by his wife, Gloria O. Horton; three daughters, Karen Rose and her husband, Steve Rose; Kelly Williams and her husband, Gregg Williams; and Kathy Balderson and her husband, Keith Balderson; nine grandchildren, John Robert Thomas, Kyle Bernard Rose, Samantha Lorraine Rose, Matthew Robert Williams, Allison Nichole Williams, Jessica Michelle Williams, Blake Thomas Balderson, Alexander Robert Balderson, and Andrew Raleigh Balderson; as well as three sisters, Nancy Rouse and her husband, Bill; Carol Saunders and her husband, Bob; and Mary Lynne and her husband, Donny. A service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg on Monday, April 29, at 1:00 PM.
