Robert Hottle, 82, of Youngsville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Prior to moving to North Carolina 31 years ago, Bob spent most of his life in Montgomery County, Maryland. Bob retired from Schindler Elevator 20 years ago after working for the company for 42 years. After only 4 years of being retired he wanted to be out amongst people a little more, so he worked part time at the local Food Lion in the produce department where he made many friends.
Bob and his wife Jane would have been married 36 years this coming October. He loved his family, grand babies, and all animals, especially dogs.
He was very meticulous in everything he did and was an artist craftsman with his wood working. His finished projects were always beautiful without fail. He would spend hours and hours lovingly perfecting them and loved showing anyone his shop. He also enjoyed his yard work, building and flying model airplanes, and guns.
Bob will be remembered for especially loving Christmas and making sure everyone got what they wanted, plus more. It would bring him great joy.
He went on many
Samaritan's Purse Disaster Relief Team trips over the years and had a real desire to help the victims in those situations using his working hands to be a witness to them.
He is survived by his loving wife Jane Hottle; sons, Ed and Christopher; stepchildren, Donald (Chip), Michael, and Annie; sister, Pat; half-sister, Terry; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ronnie, Samantha, Brittany, Faith, Ryne, Landon, Charleigh, Titus, and Calvin; and 8 out of state great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to
Samaritan's Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org.
We know without a doubt that Bob is in Heaven now being completely healed and free of pain.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Rd. Raleigh, NC 27614.
