Robert Lawrence Huffman, 69, of Higbee, Missouri passed away on September 5th at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. His passing, though it has been over a week ago, leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

Robert was born on July 31, 1956, in Fayette, Missouri, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis Huffman in Howard County.

He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from May 1980 to May 1981. By trade, Robert was a skilled diesel mechanic.

Robert loved the outdoors and cherished sitting around the open fire with family. He especially looked forward to the 4th of July celebrations at his sister Connie's home each year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lewis Huffman and Shirley (Yarbrough) Huffman; one brother, Charles Huffman; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Cady Huffman; his children, Melissa McAfee (spouse Buck), Carol Jo Tessman (spouse Robert), Robert Huffman (spouse Mindy), and Edward Huffman; stepson Rocky Wilbanks; two sisters, Connie Strain (spouse David) and Debbie Morgan (spouse Rusty); and sister-in-law Debbie Summers. He leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends Irma Washburn and Jacob Wilbanks, and countless others. Robert never knew a stranger.

A celebration of life will be held with military honors. Date and location will be announced.
