Robert Hughes Obituary
Robert was born on May 17, 1937, in Springfield, Missouri, to Roy and Nova (Hesse) Hughes. He spent his life rooted in Missouri. On October 31, 2015, Robert was united in marriage to Sue Thompson, sharing many cherished years together.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Hughes; two sons, Robert J. Hughes of Kansas City, Missouri, and Thomas S. Hughes and his wife Danielle of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Janet Black and her husband Lloyd of Seligman, Missouri, and Tammy L. Hughes of Kansas City, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dannie Hughes of Fairview, Oklahoma, and Jason A. Hughes of Oklahoma; and one sister Ona M. Cline of Buffalo, Missouri.
Robert was preceded in death by one son Roger A. Hughes, and his parents.
A memorial service will be held February 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Washburn Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
