Robert Lynn Humphrey, aged 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 23rd after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Robert is the son of Ruth Jones and James Burns Humphrey, Sr and was born in Houston, Texas on July 6, 1957. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Ronald Gregory Humphrey and his son Brent Alan Humphrey; niece Tara Kathleen Mitchell and nephew Sean Keith Mitchell.
Robert attended Memorial High School and Stephen F. Austin University. After working for his father at Humphrey Co. for several years and becoming a Master Plumber, Robert established his own Humphrey Plumbing Services and worked specifically in the Katy area. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 1439 AF&AM in Katy for 35 years and served as a mentor to many.
He loved the outdoors, boating and fishing, hunting, swimming, weekend rides on his Harley Davidson with his wife, Norm, and spending time with his grandchildren. Robert was funny, friendly, thoughtful, and a barrel of fun to be around. He was loved and admired everywhere he went and left a legacy shown by his many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Robert leaves behind his devoted wife of 14 years, Norma Elizabeth Wilson and her children Yarrow Cooper (David Sledge) and grandchildren Cooper and Sadie; Josh Cooper; and Camille Cooper (Eric Doll) and granddaughters Elliot and Rawlins. His son David Humphrey; and daughter Alison Humphrey (Rob Evans II) and grandson Bobby. In addition, his brother Jim Humphrey (Pam) and family; and sisters Suzanne Humphrey (Bill White) and family; and Patty Daleo (Wayne Tyler) and family.
A private family service will be held Saturday, May 3rd. Condolences may be sent to Cinco Ranch Church of Christ, 6655 Mason Road, Katy, Tx 77450.
Friends of Robert are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2:00pm at The Wildcatters Saloon, 26913 Katy Freeway, Katy, Tx.
