Robert J. Jartin

Robert J. Jartin, 85, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025. He was born July 27, 1940, in Johnstown, the son of the late John and Barbara (Haluska) Jartin. Robert was a Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles, and a Commander of Bushy Run American Legion No. 260. Prior to his retirement, Robert was a teacher at the Penn Trafford school district for 25 years and retired in 2001. Robert enjoyed deer hunting and drinking dark beer, but most of all, he enjoyed going on cruises with his family. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sweet daughter, Heather Rivardo; and brother-in-law, Ronald Ritko. Robert will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Diane Jartin; son-in-law, Mathew (Matt) Rivardo; sister, Barbara Jean Ritko; brother, Geoffrey W. (Karen) Jartin; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was a proud grandfather of Jacob, Robbie, Dyanna, Hannah; and eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont (724-468-1177), followed by a blessing service for Robert at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
