Mr. Jellen was my history teacher at Tolland High School back in the early 70´s. He was kind, patient, and I enjoyed learning because of his style of teaching. I´m sorry for your loss. He was a really great man!

I met my dear friend Bob in 2017 when I began my Ph.D. at UConn. From that time on, we met often-sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly-and shared countless meaningful conversations. I shared many important moments of my academic journey with him, and his presence always brought warmth and positivity. Bob had an incredible spirit that could brighten any day. He helped me understand America-its people, culture, and history-and made my transition to life in the U.S. much easier. You left too soon, Bob. I will always cherish your kindness, wisdom, and friendship. Rest in peace, my friend - your memory will stay with me forever.

To one of the most important mentors in my life growing up. Bob was always there for me no matter what. He was without a doubt the best teacher I ever had and that friendship only grew as years went on. Bob if only you knew how much you did for me over the years. I could never repay you my friend. Rest easy my friend and I will see you again someday and we will pick up exactly where we left off. I will miss you always and always remember the guidance and wisdom you bestowed upon me....
