Robert Carl Johanns, Jr., age 84, of Hedgesville, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Kearneysville, WV.
Born Monday, February 19, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Robert C Johanns, Sr. and Frances Meseke Johanns.
Robert was a graduate of Glen Burnie High School, class of 1957. He worked for Westing House Corporation/ Northrop Grumman for thirteen years as a machinist. He then went on to work for Xerox Corporation as a computer analyst engineer, retiring in 1994. After retirement, he owned his own machine shop in Millersville, MD.
He was a 33rd Degree Mason and past Master of Sincerity Lodge 181. He also served six years in the Air National Guard.
Robert’s hobbies included hunting and fishing in the great outdoors. He loved working in his machine shop. He had a passion for farming and was also an avid classic muscle car enthusiast.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Shives Johanns of Hedgesville, WV; one son, Robert (Jennifer) Johanns III of Hedgesville, WV; one daughter, Michele Denise Johanns of Hedgesville, WV; one granddaughter, Brittany Hooten; two great-grandchildren, Lily Grace Hooten and Talon Hooten; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, William Johanns.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
