Robert Glenn "Cotton" Johnson

BRISTOL, TN - Robert Glenn "Cotton" Johnson, age 78 of Bristol, TN, passed away on May 14, 2025 following a brief illness.

Cotton was born and raised in Mountain City, TN. He was the youngest son of Don and Bell Johnson. Cotton spent his entire life supporting and working in the local communities. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Those who know Cotton know he enjoyed doing what he liked to do when he liked to do it. If you know Cotton or hear his name, there is often a story to be told.

Cotton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Allen, Odell and Scott; wife, Linda; girlfriend, Shirley Dempsey; and stepson, Brian Thomas.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Hartsock; son, Rocky Johnson (Heather); stepdaughter, Lynn Colley (Chris); kid, Amanda Bentley (Ryan); brother, Frank Johnson (Betty); grandchildren Zoe Belle, Siera, Micheal, Kyla, Devon; several loved great grandchildren, special family and countless friends.

Funeral services will be at Mountain City Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on May 19, 2025. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow at Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rocky Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Andy Hall, Anthony Golden, Jamie Quales, and Wayne Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Isaac Cotton Bentley, Malachi Bentley, Asher Bentley, and Aaron Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you share a story about Cotton or do something nice for someone in his honor.
