Robert Jung

Robert Jung, 87, Eureka, SD, died January 30, 2026 at the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center. A prayer service is scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Lien-Straub-Carlsen Chapel, Eureka, led by Pastor Ryan Gage. Visitation commences 1:00 PM Sunday.

Robert William Jung, son of Hilda (Fischer) and William Jung, was born August 4, 1938 at Eureka. He attended the Eureka Public School, graduating with the EHS Class of 1957. He relocated to Arvada, CO where he was a manager at Safeway Grocery for a number of years. In retirement, he returned to Eureka and ran the Luncheonette Restaurant for 26 years. He married Connie (Weller) Gab on November 4, 1989, and she survives him. Bob was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Eureka, the Eureka Lion's Club, and the Eureka Country Club. Bob enjoyed golfing and going on group scooter runs. Bob's pride and joy was his 1957 Chrysler convertible. He also was a die-hard Broncos fan.

In addition to Connie, his wife of 36 years, he is also survived by two stepdaughters-Monica (Wesley) Hilgeman of Eureka and Jodi (Jack McClain) Gab of Playa
Coronado, Panama; three sisters-Donna (Ron) Bieber of Coppell, TX, Kathy (Dennis) Heilman of Eureka, and Debbie (Scott) Neuman of Sheridan, WY; two grandchildren-Jennifer (Nate Decker) of Thornton, CO and Nathan Jung of Highland Ranch, CO; Step grandchildren-Steven (Chasity) Hilgemann of Glenham, SD and Allie (Royce) Erdmann of Leola, SD; and six great grandchildren-Teagan and Max Decker, Cash and Kollyns Hilgemann, and Walker and Wren Erdmann.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Mavis (Teske); one son, Brad Jung; His parents, William and Hilda; one brother, Elroy (Bunni) Jung; and one sister, Janice (Vern) Dockter.

Bearers will grandson, Nathan and step granddaughter, Allie.

Services are in care of Lien-Straub-Carlsen Chapel, Eureka.
